The Grammys red carpet came and went, and Selena Gomez was among the stars not on it this year. But there was good reason for Gomez to skip the ceremony this year: She had no nominations nor was she invited by the Academy to perform.

Gomez was last at the ceremony in 2016 with Taylor Swift, who also missed the ceremony today. Swift did have one Grammy nomination (for Best Pop Vocal Album, which she ultimately lost to Ariana Grande) but is in London, shooting Cats. She was photographed tonight at the BAFTA Awards' after party, where she was able to sneak in after her filming commitments to celebrate her boyfriend Joe Alwyn and his fellow cast members from The Favourite's BAFTA victories.

Gomez has kept a pretty low profile on social media. But on Wednesday, Gomez's makeup artist Hung Vanngo shared a shot of her getting her makeup done for a Puma campaign shoot, so she's still quietly at work on her projects. Gomez is an ambassador of the brand:

In one of her first Instagrams after she returned from her social media hiatus, Gomez wrote about all her fans have to look forward to, while teasing her Puma shoe collaboration. "Lots to look forward to in 2019," she wrote. "I can’t wait to share the projects I’ve been working on with you."

Gomez wrote before to her fans about her own growth in 2018 and how she was personally excited about 2019, too. "Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth," she said. "It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all."
