Another rose has wilted. With the news of another breakup in Bachelor Nation, fans can’t help but wonder why Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo are divorcing and what the real reason is behind their split. Bryan was the winner of The Bachelorette Season 13 and proposed to Rachel at the Final Rose Ceremony, and they got engaged. Rachel and Bryan married on August 24, 2019.

“I don’t have any bridesmaids. Suddenly, it was like a flip switched, the skies opened up and I finally felt free. No bridesmaids! In this overwhelming era of bride squads and bride babes, I can’t believe I didn’t realize nixing this tradition—a groundbreaking move, was even an option,” Rachel told StyleCaster at the time of her untraditional wedding. “We don’t need the flair of it. I get why people do, but honestly we’re older so we’ve had so many friends along the way, it would just be too hard to narrow down. And when it comes to the wedding, you know, the whole thing is supposed to be about you and your husband-to-be. And that’s exactly who is going to be standing up there [at the altar].”

1. Why are Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo divorcing?

Why Are Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo divorcing? Bryan filed for divorce from Rachel on January 2, 2024, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. He listed December 31, 2023, as the date of their separation and also requested spousal support from Rachel.

Bryan also confirmed the split in an Instagram post the same day he filed in which he suggested that it was his decision to divorce. “If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I don’t like to put my personal affairs on social media and like to keep a safe space for our family. Many of you know me as a chiropractor, and also as a husband, my proudest role so far. After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew,” Bryan wrote. “My parents have been married forever and I’m a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go. I wanted to hear it from the source before the blogs start making up their own reality. Please respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps.”

Weeks before their divorce, Rachel confirmed on “The Viall Files” podcast that she and Bryan have had their “ups and downs.” “I just [was like], ‘I want to keep this for ourselves’ and, you know, marriage has ups and downs, but you never know when we’re good or when we’re not because we never put it out there,” she said. “I kind of want to keep it that way, so when I want to share something, I do.”

She also explained that she and Bryan have “totally different lives,” which is why they don’t appear often on each other’s social media. The day before Bryan filed for divorce, Rachel shared a cryptic Instagram Story about from Bachelor alum Natasha Parker about what she’s learned in 2023. “Lessons of 2023. Do not trust all the thoughts. Go where you are celebrated. Real friends are just real. If it’s forced, it will probably fail. If they can’t show up for themselves, they won’t show up for you. Move on,” the post read. “Patience will always be a friend. It’s okay to outgrow people, places, and things. Growing pains are necessary to get to the next level. People will show you who they are. Always believe them.”

Rachel captioned the post, “All of this.”
