Why Princess Eugenie Refuses to "Take Sides" in the Cambridges' Drama with the Sussexes

Despite being in a years-long feud with the royal family, it looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still super close to Princess Eugenie. In fact, Harry's cousin (who is the daughter of Duchess Sarah Ferguson and disgraced royal Prince Andrew) was featured in the Sussexes' Netflix docuseries multiple times—proving that their relationship is still going strong.
However! A source tells The Express that Princess Eugenie is also very close to Prince William and Kate Middleton—and has managed to remain friends with both couples despite the tense relationship between them.
“Eugenie’s still very close to William and Kate, she hasn’t taken sides or any nonsense like that," a source explains. "She loves them both and she’s known for being diplomatic, so it’s no surprise she’s been able to keep a foot in both camps.”
Apparently, everyone's hoping that Eugenie will be the one to help mend fences between Prince William and Prince Harry. As the source put it, “Now, the hope is that with time she’ll be able to help heal the rift between the brothers. Certainly, no one is expecting her to make it happen overnight but if anyone can do it, she can.”
Earlier this month, an Us Weekly source dove into Eugenie's relationship with Meghan and Harry specifically, saying that “Eugenie and Harry and Meghan have an unbreakable bond. They’re in regular communication and FaceTime at least once every couple of months with the children.”
An insider also told the outlet that Meghan and Eugenie are “sort of an unlikely pair, but remain in contact," and have "stayed friends and remain friends.”
