Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Taking a Whirlwind Trip to Italy

Who can say no to a Roman holiday?

According to multiple reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected in Italy this weekend—if they haven’t arrived already. It will be a couples trip for the two, as baby Archie is said to be staying home in England.

So what’s the occasion? Misha Nonoo and Michael Hess’s wedding.

Meghan is close friends with the fashion designer—just last week they released a capsule clothing collection together, the proceeds going to the duchess’s patronage, Smart Works. Nonoo attended both Meghan’s wedding at Windsor Castle in May 2018 and her lavish baby shower at the Mark Hotel in February. A source told Page Six: “There is no way that Meghan wouldn’t be at Misha’s wedding—no way at all.”

Hello! reports that part of the wedding weekend will be held at Cinecittà, the Italian movie studio where Fellini filmed some of his masterpieces.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t be the only famous faces in attendance: Karlie Kloss, Joshua Kushner, Katy Perry, and Orlando Bloom are also said to be on the guest list. Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and Ellie Goulding are close with Nonoo as well.

Prince Harry and Meghan have a jam-packed travel schedule: Right after Nonoo’s wedding, they will depart for Africa. Their royal tour of the southern part of the continent stretches from September 23 to October 2, and they are bringing Archie along with them. If all that seems draining, don’t worry: Meghan has a tried-and-true trick to beat jet lag.
