The 2019 Met Gala isn't happening for seven whole months, but with news that Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, and Gucci's creative director, Alessandro Michelle, will serve as co-chairs for the "Camp"-themed exhibition, it doesn't seem like it could get any more exciting. Except it can.

Fashion's big night out could get a heavy dose of British royals, if the rumor mill is accurate. There's already buzz that Meghan Markle, by far the most-discussed royal of 2018, could make an appearance as a show of support for her pal Serena, who is co-hosting.

It may not be all that far-fetched — after all, there was talk of Markle going to the Emmys — and stranger things have happened before. Princess Diana once went out on the town to the Met Gala (in Dior, no less), and just last year, Princess Beatrice attended in an Alberta Ferretti gown.

If Meghan (or her husband, Prince Harry) were to go, it would be their first time at the event, and their first time officially visiting the United States together since tying the knot.

Talk about a big deal.
