Here’s Why You Might Not See Meghan Markle for a While

A very important date for the Duchess of Sussex is coming up….

Kensington Palace confirmed to Metro this week that, aside from some private meetings, Meghan Markle does not "currently have any more official engagements" on her calendar. So what does this mean for royal fans? Well, for starters, there probably won't be any new photos of her in the next several weeks. She'll be too busy prepping for Baby Sussex, who's reportedly due at the end of April or early May.

The palace's confirmation follows a busy month for Markle. On Tuesday, March 12, she stepped out with Prince Harry for Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey, where she was spotted hugging Kate Middleton and getting a little teary during a music performance. Earlier that day, she and Harry visited Canada House in London for an event with Canadian expats in the U.K. And last week Markle spoke on a panel for International Women's Day.

“I think the real treat in and of itself is being able to be here—that is such a gift on this day," she said. "And then separate from that there are the women in my life that I want to celebrate with and send some love to today. But also the men who are championing all of us as part of this journey."

According to Vanity Fair, Markle told her aides she wanted to work as close to her due date as possible. Metro reports she's keeping up with a few things here and there, like recently meeting with her royal patronage, the Royal National Theatre.

No new photos means we probably won't see any of Meghan Markle's showstopping fashion for a while. And that's a pretty big bummer, given the incredible maternity looks she's been pulling together recently. Luckily, she's her own stylist and will surely have tons more looks in store once she's a mom.
