Max Greenfield, Taylor Swift

Max Greenfield is a huge fan of Taylor Swift—but his daughter, Lilly, would really rather he not be.

During a Feb. 12 appearance on The Talk, the actor discussed the upcoming season of his sitcom, The Neighborhood. Greenfield also shared his love for the pop superstar, along with his daughter's disdain for her dad being such a huge Swiftie.

"I've got to be careful, though, because my daughter's at a place... 'Hey dad, Taylor's our thing. And, like, you gotta back off,'" he explained. "I'm not really allowed to wear the shirts anymore. We got all this merch. I can't wear the merch anymore."

When asked if he explained that he knew Swift—because she appeared on his show, New Girl, in 2013—Green field replied, "She's not happy about it."

He shared: "If you look at New Girl, Taylor was on it, Olivia Rodrigo was on it. And it's not a great vibe when Lilly realizes, 'Yeah, she was on dad's show too.'"

During the interview, Greenfield also shared that although he's neither a Kansas City Chiefs nor a San Francisco 49ers fan, he tuned into Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 for the same reason as many others did.

"I was excited. I was into a lot of the different story lines. I like Taylor. I like the Taylor-Kelce thing," he said. "It's a beautiful love story, and I'm into it."

In summer 2023, Greenfield attended one of Swift's Eras Tour concerts with Lilly and his wife, Tess Sanchez. (He and Sanchez also share a son, Ozzie.) He shared photos from the outing via Instagram on Aug. 5.

Despite Lilly claiming the title of biggest Swift fan in the family, hopefully Greenfield will low-key be able to enjoy the "Cruel Summer" songstress' upcoming 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, when it drops on April 19.
