Kim Kardashian West thinks she knows the secret to postpartum health: eating your placenta! The reality star, who just gave birth to her second child, Saint West, on December 5 is sharing her after-baby diet regimen with her fans on her blog, and let's just say, it may not be for everyone. In fact, Kardashian wasn't even sure it was for her (although she is following in the footsteps of big sis Kourtney).

"So, I'm really not this holistic person or someone who would have ever considered eating my placenta," she wrote, going on to clarify, "And when I say 'eat my placenta,' I mean that I'm having it freeze-dried and made into a pill form—not actually fry it like a steak and eat it (which some people do, BTW)."

Kardashian then went on to explain why she is giving placenta pills a try, writing, "I heard so many stories when I was pregnant with North of moms who never ate their placenta with their first baby and then had postpartum depression, but then when they took the pills with their second baby, they did not suffer from depression!"

Then the star compares postpartum depression to baby blues, which may ruffle some moms' feathers. But in the end, the new mom-of-two says taking placenta pills is just a personal choice she made for herself. "I can't go wrong with taking a pill made of my own hormones—made by me, for me. I started researching and read about so many moms who felt this same way and said the overall healing process was so much easier."

But she also suggests other mamas consider popping their own placenta. "I had great results and felt so energized and didn't have any signs of depression! I definitely had to do it again. Every time I take a pill, I feel a surge of energy and feel really healthy and good. I totally recommend it for anyone considering it!" Kardashian wrote.

Here's hoping it continues working for you, Kim! I'd never judge a new mom for doing anything that helps her get through the day.
