She's one of the most in-demand supermodels in the fahsion world—opening for Chanel, Versace, Moschino and every other luxury label you love—so why isn't Kaia Gerber at this year's Met Gala?

Turns out she's not allowed! But fret not, it's not that Anna Wintour has a personal vendetta against her or anything. Rather, the 16-year-old just doesn't have fulfill the age requirements. The gala, apparently, is "not an appropriate event for people under 18," organizers told The Hollywood Reporter. Yep, even with a religious theme and a Cardinal in attendance, the event still isn't considered kosher for the Gen Z set.

Some speculated that last year's bathroom smoking scandal—in which several A-listers were caught (er, they posted incriminating photos of themselves in the act on Instagram) behaving badly—had something to do with the new age restriction.

One thing we do know: When Gerber and Cindy finally step out together in 2 years time, they'll be the hottest mom-and-daughter duo on the carpet.
