Why Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Are Skipping the 2019 Grammys
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin will not be making their award show debut as a couple tonight at the Grammys. As the red carpet starts in Los Angeles, the two are on the opposite side of the country in New York City. Baldwin and Bieber were photographed leaving church this afternoon in Manhattan:
It is New York Fashion Week too, so Baldwin could easily be in the city for runway work. Baldwin was photographed leaving the IMG Models office on January 30.
Bieber also has no pressing need to be at the Grammys ceremony: He has no nominations and is not set to perform at the ceremony. And his absence is hardly surprising given Bieber has not been at any award show since the Grammys in 2016. TMZ additionally reported last year that Bieber will skip all award shows until his new album is released, and he has new music to perform and promote at them. No new singles, no Justin Bieber.
In his new interview with Vogue, Bieber touched on his decision to take a break from music for the time being so he could focus on being a good person and husband. “Just thinking about music stresses me out,” he told the magazine. “I’ve been successful since I was thirteen, so I didn’t really have a chance to find who I was apart from what I did. I just needed some time to evaluate myself: who I am, what I want out of my life, my relationships, who I want to be-stuff that when you’re so immersed in the music business you kind of lose sight of.” So unsurprisingly, Bieber is skipping out on the industry's biggest event.
