Why JJ Watt's Latest Family Photo Has Fans Saying It's 'Overkill'

Photos of celebrity families in their Halloween costumes are still rolling in — and we’re loving every one of them. Even if fans are calling JJ Watt’s look “overkill.” The retired NFL defensive end shared a carousel of pictures yesterday of his sweet family in their group. He, his wife Kealia Watt, and their son Koa Watt were dressed as The Incredibles.

They each wore red Incredibles costumes and black masks. In the first photo, JJ — whose costume had the Mr. Incredible muscles built in — had one hand on his hip, superhero style, and Koa in his other arm, super dad style. Kealia stood next to her boys and also rocked the superhero stance. In the second, JJ had his fist in the air, smiling at his little boy, while Mama Watt gave the camera a fierce look and showed off her enviable black over-the-knee boots.

“Live Action Remake coming to theaters October 2027,” JJ captioned the photo.

Um, yes please! No one could focus on JJ’s proposal, though. They were too busy staring at his costume.

“JJ in a muscle suit is overkill🤣,” one person said. “Don’t think u need the muscle custom … 😂,” another agreed. Yeah, a pro football player probably doesn’t need that, but it’s still a great costume.

Others joked that it wasn’t part of the costume, though.

“Plot twist. Not a muscle suit.” “The crazy thing is JJ ain’t even wearing a suit.”

Last month, little Koa went to his uncle TJ Watt’s football game and their interaction on the sideline was more wholesome than we could handle. Koa couldn’t stop laughing at his dad and uncle. The official NFL Instagram shared some footage with the caption, “The Watt brothers with @jjwatt’s son Koa might be the cutest thing you see all day 🥹.”

And they were right! We just watched it again today and yup, still the cutest.

The same is true in the Halloween family photo. A commenter aptly pointed out that “Jack Jack (aka the Incredibles baby) is the star in this photo.” “Best family costumes 👌🏻 Koa looks adorable ☺️💙”
