The 2022 Emmys is set to have quite the impressive lineup of celebrities in attendance, but despite the star power, there are *some* notable absences. Enter: Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Sadly, the former couple (and current friends) didn't hit the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, but we're not thaaaaat shocked since neither one of them were nominated for an award this year.

That said, three actors featured in one of Jen's projects, The Morning Show, were given the distinction—Reese Witherspoon for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Billy Crudup for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Marcia Gay Harden for Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Jen didn't attend the ceremony last year either, and dished on her decision in advance to Jimmy Kimmel. “No, I will not be going,” she told the talk show host. “I think Ben Winston, our producer and director, [who's] incredible, who put the whole thing together [will go].” At that point in the pandemic, Jen had been staying away from large gatherings, and simply being on Jimmy's show was a big deal to her: “This is a big step for me to just be here. I'm just [taking] baby steps,” she said.

As for what Brad is (probably) up to? Well, Paramount Pictures just offered a first look at his upcoming film Babylon, from La La Land director Damien Chazelle. “The basic idea was just to do a big, epic, multi-character movie, set in these early days of Los Angeles and Hollywood, when both of these things were coming into what we now think of them as,” Damien recently shared with Vanity Fair.

The Babylon stills reveal the project's star-studded lineup, which features Brad, Margot Robbie, and Diego Calva, not to mention appearances from Tobey Maguire, Jean Smart, Olivia Wilde, Li Jun Li, Jovan Adepo, and Katherine Waterston.

The movie's official synopsis reads: “A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.” Color me intrigued!
