Find Out Why Jared Leto Is Hitchhiking Across America

Mandy Moore isn’t the only celebrity to embark on an extreme journey this year. Jared Leto is hitchhiking across the US to promote the April 6 release of America, the new album from his band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

“It’s a pretty big adventure,” the singer said on Monday’s episode of On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “I’m going to hitchhike, among other things, across the country from New York City to Los Angeles. I may jump on a donkey in the Grand Canyon or take a hot air balloon.”

The star expects to have a lot of great experiences on the journey. He told Seacrest that he’s been hitchhiking since he was a kid and has learned some amazing things along the way. “You meet a lot of interesting people and a lot of really kind people,” he said. “As I tour across the country, as we are going to be doing in June and July in America, you see a lot of unity. You see a lot of things that are very different than what we might expect because what we hear on the news you see a lot of people getting along.”

As you read this, Leto is already on his way. The Suicide Squad star hitchhiked right through The Tonight Show to get a ride with rapper A$AP Rocky before heading out to perform at Grand Central Station and Penn Station (with a gospel choir, no less).

That’s certainly a lively way to kick off a memorable trip!
