Why Jacob Elordi and Olivia Jade Opted Out the 2024 Golden Globes

Saltburn and Priscilla star Jacob Elordi chose not to start his award season with an appearance at the 2024 Golden Globes alongside his girlfriend Olivia Jade Giannulli like some fans anticipated.

Neither Jacob nor Olivia were seen at the ceremony. Part of it may be because Jacob did not receive any solo nominations, nor were his films singled out in the best picture categories.

Jacob's Saltburn co-stars Barry Keoghan and Rosamund Pike were up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama and Best Supporting Actress, Motion Picture, respectively. His Priscilla co-star Cailee Spaeny, meanwhile, was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama. (They all attended the ceremony.)

In early December, Jacob spoke to Vanity Fair about whether there are any similarities between his roles in Saltburn and Priscilla. “I made Priscilla three weeks after Saltburn,” he said. “So they’re strangely both meshed together in my head because I’d shoot all day in London, and then I’d go home to my Elvis cave, which was my hotel room, which was sort of all pictures of Priscilla. But I think, other than both of them having a kind of ginormous house between Saltburn and Graceland, I’m not sure if Felix has too much of Elvis Presley in it.”

As for his relationship with Olivia, he is generally less forthcoming. For example, during a November GQ interview, Jacob was asked about his love life. He cheekily declined to answer any questions on it, saying, “but I appreciate you giving me the space.”

He and Olivia both attended the GQ Men of the Year party on November 16, posing separately on the red carpet, though the two were seen leaving together. In early January, unverified celeb gossip outlet DeuxMoi shared a user submission claiming that they are still dating.
