The Jabra Elite 65t are still my top pick for completely wireless earbuds. Why do I say still? Well, because they debuted in early 2018. It's an impressive feat to remain atop all the competition, especially considering how vibrant this category has become since that time.

The Elite 65t earbuds are also rated highly by editors from CNET and The Verge. So whether you're shopping for your first-ever pair of truly wireless earbuds, or are simply looking to upgrade your existing ones, there are a couple of reasons why you need to have the Jabra Elite 65t on your short list of potential options.

They're Incredibly Comfortable

The Jabra Elite 65t are handily the most comfortable wireless earbuds I've tested to date. They're designed to follow the shape of your ear — all you need to do is pick the right ear tips, of which there are several sets of in the headset’s retail package.

I was impressed that the earbuds didn’t cause even a hint of fatigue after hours of use. Unlike many of their rivals, the Elite 65t earbuds offer a consistently secure fit, including during workouts. Rather surprisingly, I was never worried that an earbud might accidentally fall out of my ear.

They're Super Stylish

The Jabra Elite 65t have a pleasantly understated design, which is among the best in this product category. There are two colors to pick from: titanium black and gold beige. Each pair of earbuds comes with a matching charging case.

My favorite bit about the design of the earbuds is how great they look when you wear them. Because of their seamless fit, the Elite 65t buds don’t protrude unnaturally from your ear like some of their rivals. They certainly won’t look like earplugs when you wear them.

They Deliver Great Sound

I liked the sound of the Jabra Elite 65t wireless earbuds right out of the box. It’s well-balanced, entertaining, and suitable for any type of audio content — from Pink Floyd to your favorite podcast. The audio experience during phone calls is also solid, courtesy of four built-in microphones.

You can tweak the audio experience to your exact liking via a mobile app. Dubbed Jabra Sound+, it allows you to adjust the equalizer settings and the call's audio experience, as well as the level of noise isolation the earbuds deliver.

You can also set up one-touch access to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri via the Jabra Sound+ mobile app (which is also necessary to install firmware updates for the headset).

Most importantly, the truly wireless earbuds maintained a robust and worry-free wireless connection during months of heavy use. It's great that they have Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity — a standard that’s tailor-made for today’s latest and greatest smartphones.

The Battery Life Is Solid

The Jabra Elite 65t earbuds can deliver up to 5 hours of wireless tunes between charges. That’s solid endurance for a pair of completely wireless earbuds, even though it's a tad behind today’s latest offerings in this product category. The headset’s charging case holds two full charges. I only wish it used a USB-C connector for charging instead of a microUSB input.

They're Water Resistant

The earbuds have an IP55 rating for resistance to water, dust, and sweat. Jabra backs them with a 2-year warranty against damage from the aforementioned trio. All you need to do is register the headset via the Jabra Sound+ app.

In case you're looking for a higher rating for water resistance, consider the slightly pricier Jabra Elite 65t Active instead. My top pick for workout warriors today, it offers similar design, but higher water-resistance rating.

Wrap-Up

The main things people want from truly wireless earbuds are a comfortable fit, lengthy battery life, and a cool design. The Jabra Elite 65t check all the boxes, and the price is within reach for many potential buyers.
