It's a truth universally acknowledged that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are the cutest couple ever and all other couples can go ahead and step in a box to the left. And part of their cuteness is how willing they are to be ALL OVER EACH OTHER in public. Like, remember this good time?

However, Meghan and Harry stans noticed a moment during the Young Leaders Reception at Buckingham Palace on June 26, when Meghan seemed to reach for Harry's hand, and he straight up avoided her.

The reason? PDA just isn't done in front of the Queen. "It is rare to see royal couples holding hands on official outings," royal etiquette expert Myka Meier tells People. "While we are much less likely to see The Duke and Duchess holding hands in public, we often see Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall holding hands-it’s all simply a matter of preference for each couple and is also likely dependent on the nature of the event they are attending. A more serious engagement would warrant a more serious level of professionalism, which each royal is sure to follow."

Meanwhile etiquette expert William Hanson tells Daily Mail, "Public displays of affection, such a hand holding, may be accepted in private situations and in social spheres, but when out in public Harry and Meghan are on official business and so it is not considered professional behavior."

Guess the Young Leaders Reception was pretty official!
