Why Drew Barrymore's Dress for the White House Correspondents' Dinner Has Everyone Talking

Actress and television talk show host Drew Barrymore attended the 2022 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner and her ensemble is getting lots of attention for more reasons than one.
From Kim Kardashian to Martha Stewart, a ticket to the star-studded event is one hot commodity. We'd love to be a fly on the wall as celebrities turn the dinner into an unofficial fashion show and comedians say what's really been on all of our minds.
This year, The Drew Barrymore Show host pulled out all the stops as she stepped out in a full sequin dress complete with a cape designed by Lanvin.
The outfit is giving the glamour and drama that we usually expect at these type of highly anticipated events and fans were quick to bombard Drew's comments with messages like:
"You are absolutely perfect!!!"
"OMG, that dress!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️"
"Stunning and elegant as always Drew ❤️❤️❤️"
The actress even tagged TV personality Gayle King as her wingwoman for the night. Who doesn't need one of those, right? Drew seemed to have a ball on the red carpet before the dinner and cameras even caught this iconic selfie of Drew and Gayle joined by fellow news personalities Norah O'Donnell and Wendy McMahon.
In a red carpet interview, Drew took a trip down memory lane as she remembered auditioning for her iconic role in E.T. She admitted that she had to audition for her famous scream scene when she first meets E.T. and she "broke the sound which [she] thinks was a good thing." She later went on to say, "I can pretty much owe and trace everything back to Steven Spielberg choosing me for that movie and I'm still so close with him and it means so much more than probably anything I've ever been involved in."
Needless to say, we sure are glad that 6-year-old Drew Barrymore got the role and has blossomed into an acting icon.
