If you haven’t heard by now, Taylor Swift made history at the Grammys on Sunday night by becoming the only artist to win album of the year four times. She won that Grammy—her 14th overall—for her album Midnights, which also won best pop vocal album at the ceremony.

We could talk about Swift’s record-breaking achievements, her impact on culture, her crazy 2023, or her mid-Grammys announcement that her next album, The Tortured Poets Department, is being released on April 19. But I have a more urgent, more pressing question that I need to get addressed.

Why did Taylor Swift keep trying to put her Grammy Award on people’s heads?

This is a real thing that she did, multiple times, without explanation or preamble, during and after the awards show.

See Exhibit A. Swift had barely finished her speech for winning album of the year when she exuberantly began attempting to force people to wear her award as a hat.

She wasn't done though. After the show, Swift tried very, very hard to get boygenius to place her trophy upon their heads.

First, she tried to get Lucy Dacus to try out her new hat.

Then, since Dacus didn't seem super down for the accessory, she placed it above Julien Baker's head.

If you're wondering if this is just a weird photo angle, no, she really was trying to put them on their heads. As this video shows, Swift even said: “Can I put them on your head? It seems cool.”

What if just hovered above everyone's heads, guys? What then?

I haven't been able to track down photos of this, but she may have also done it to Jack Antonoff?

Okay, so here are some theories.

One, could Grammys be the hot new accessory of the season? Should we all wear Grammys as hats? After all, Jay-Z pointed out his daughter, Blue Ivy, has used one as a sippy cup. These are multifaceted pieces of hardware.

Or she could have just been having fun. Maybe she was a little tipsy, who knows? (We've all been there, Taylor.)

But it's Taylor, so we can't discount the possibility this all has a deeper meaning. Grammy on head = Easter Egg for TS11? Is this Rep-coded?

Discuss.
