Why Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich Reportedly Broke Up

Demi Lovato and her fiancé, Max Ehrich, have reportedly broken up just two months after getting engaged, and new details are starting to emerge about what went wrong in the relationship.

“It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers,” a source initially said to People on September 24. “They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together.”

But it’s reportedly a bit more complicated.

Demi and Max were basically together 24/7 for months,” a source tells People in a new report. “They lived in a bubble with zero stress, and everything was just fun. Now they are both working and are on separate coasts.”

“Max shot up in fame, and ’s been hard,” another source added. “He got wrapped up in [Hollywood].”

E! News reports there may have been some trust issues. “There were many red flags she was ignoring and trying to turn a blind eye to,” a source said, with another person adding that Lovato “doesn’t trust him and thinks he’s sketchy.” Apparently, things “started going downhill” after Ehrich went to Atlanta to film a new project. “They were arguing a lot, and Demi didn’t want him to go without her,” the first source told E!

“There has been a lot of tension, and Demi left him to get a clear head,” the first source continued.

This is all very sad, especially considering how happy Lovato sounded when the couple got engaged in July. “I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” she wrote on Instagram. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”

Here’s hoping Demi Lovato is doing okay and this is all for the best.
