[UPDATE 09/10/2019 5:30 PM]: Abby Lee Miller just took a big step in her recovery as she continues to work on re-learning how to walk after her major surgery.

While appearing on The Doctors, Abby took small steps on the show's stage to show that she is slowly learning how to walk. She also opened up about how difficult it has been, especially before she got her knee replaced in an effort to gain mobility.

"It would just buckle and go down," Abby said about her knee.

Even though she wasn't sure if she would walk again, she has been working on re-learning how four times a week and it has certainly paid off. Check out a video of her walking below:

[Original post]: Fans of Dance Moms are super excited to have Abby Lee Miller back in charge of the Abby Lee Dance Company with a new group of dancers that are ready to rise to the top. While the show is still the same, there is one major change that many fans are wondering about now that Abby has made her big return.

In the new season of Dance Moms, Abby has officially returned to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania after serving time in prison for her fraud. She ended up being diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphom when she was living in a halfway house before she returned home.

According to Lymphoma Research Foundation, "Burkitt's Lymphoma is a rare but highly aggressive (fast-growing) lymphoma. This disease may affect the jaw, central nervous system, bowel, kidneys, ovaries, or other organs. Burkitt lymphoma may spread to the central nervous system."

Abby immediately started chemotherapy treatment and even had emergency spinal surgery after she left the halfway house that she was in.

In a recent interview with People, Abby revealed that by then she was paralyzed and things were getting pretty grave from what she was able to overhear from her doctor.

"I was paralyzed from my neck down. I was in the fetal position, just talking, that was it, that was all I could do, and he did eight hours of emergency surgery," Abby said. "He looked at my three friends that were there and he said, 'We have 10 minutes or we're going to lose her.'"

Abby was pretty open about her experiences of her cancer and her treatments afterwards. She also revealed that the tumor had affected her spine, which affected her posture and ability to walk. Abby is now using a wheelchair to get around after successfully beating her cancer diagnosis.

Although Burkitt's Lymphoma has affected her being able to walk, she has been open about her recent physical therapy appointments that also include relearning how to walk again with the use of a treadmill and doctors.

"I've had two different therapists say there's no doubt [I will walk again]," she told People. "[I plan] to be walking by September."
