Corinne House of Villains

In her more than three weeks on House of Villains, Corinne Olympios had quite the journey. The Bachelor star arrived on the show only to immediately offend Omarosa Manigault Newman when she didn't know The Apprentice star by sight ("Google me"). She narrowly dodged elimination in Week 1 when the villains sent home Jax Taylor instead of her, she flirted with Johnny Bananas in the hot tub and she became Tiffany "New York" Pollard's personal egg chef.

In Week 3, however, when Omarosa became Supervillain of the Week for a second time, she put Corinne on the Hit List again despite saying she wouldn't nominate any women. When the house's target Shake Chatterjee (whom everyone seems to despise if exit interviews are to be believed), saved himself in the Redemption Challenge, the villains had to decide between keeping Corinne or Tanisha Thomas. Ultimately, Corinne seemed like the bigger threat and was sent tumbling through the concrete wall.

Parade sat down with Corinne after her elimination to unpack everything that happened, including the time she tried to win over her fellow villains with disastrously cooked corn.

Why do you think Omarosa decided to throw you on the Hit List? She claimed she was going after floaters, but she'd previously told you that she wasn't going to nominate you. What happened?

I think she's just a villain. There was also a moment we had near the pool where she said, "What would you say if I put you up on the chopping block?" And I said, "Please don't do that. My mental health can't handle it. I don't want to go up against Shake." I obviously had a lot of issues with Shake. I just think it was a really shitty move to do, girl to girl. But you know what? I wouldn't expect anything less from her, so I shouldn't have been surprised at all.

Then it seemed like you were in a good alliance with so many people in the house, but you got voted out unanimously. How did that happen? Did you know it was coming?

No, not at all. I was very shocked by that. But also I shouldn't have been because, again, Shake won the Redemption Challenge. I tried and gave it my all no matter how scared I was, which [made me look] more threatening than Tanisha, who quit the challenge. So I really should have just sat back and not tried at all and just kept myself under the radar.

The Redemption Challenge involved putting your hands in containers with snakes, rats and scorpions. You and Tanisha almost didn't compete, but then the producers talked you into it. What was going on in your head?

Oh, full meltdown. I was like, "Are you kidding me?" The challenge before this was people getting people to do sh-t for them. And you're gonna make me dig through bugs and fish and snakes and mice? No, this is not fair. I let you guys know I'm terrified of bugs. This is so awful of you. And I just had a full meltdown, full freak out. But I was like, "I don't have a choice. I got to pull up my pants and do this."

Did you actually put your hands in the box? Did you get close to getting a coin?

So, actually, they didn't show this. I did get in there and get some coins, but they were faulty coins. In the challenge, you had faulty coins that weren't coins you could put in people's slots. You have to trash those and go back in and get more. I actually got a couple of coins, but they were all faulty.

Did Tanisha get any coins?

Tanisha did not put her hands in the box at all. I did try, which I thought was a good idea, and then everybody was like, "Wait, no, we need to keep the person that just isn't doing anything at all."

You flirted with Johnny Bananas the whole season. Was there anything there? Have you guys talked at all sort of since the show?

He's a great friend of mine. We were flirting, but it was all in good fun. I don't know what the future holds, but we still hang out, and we're still friends. We always will have the flirty fun banter, but, you know, who knows?

You and Omarosa butted heads at the beginning of the show and then had this like on again, off again working relationship. What was it like being in the house with her?

I'm a Scorpio, like I can't hide my emotions. So it was really hard for me to just like act like everything was fine. But, you know, when you're in a house with just 10 people and dropping, I needed everybody there that I could get. So I have to just put a smile on when she came in the room as much as it pained me. But yeah, it was tough.

But then in the end, she was the one person who wanted to keep you.

Uh, no. If she wanted to keep me, she wouldn't have put me up for elimination. I think it was a really sh-tty thing to do, especially since she knows that Shake was very disrespectful to me, and I had an issue with him. I think it was just a bad move on her end in girl code to put me up with him at that point.

We saw you had a friendship with New York. What was it like sharing a room with her? And in the last Redemption Challenge she made you do so many ridiculous things. Did you know something was going on?

Honestly, I didn't know that the other people were doing tests too. I didn't think anything was going on because I didn't know it was happening all around the house. I thought New York was just asking me to do things for her because she was nervous. I did bring her coffee every morning anyway.

Was it an actual friendship or just out of a necessity?

No, it was a real friendship for sure. Her and I are still great friends. We'll always be friends. I love that woman. She is amazing. Our friendship was great. Living in the same room together was great. There were a few incidences about sharing the bathroom, but you know, we're two girls. It's expected.

You were also there for New York's blow up at Omarosa. What was it like being in the room for that?

I could not believe my eyes. I was like, "What is going on?" But honestly, good for her. I love that New York is just true to herself and says what's on her mind always. And I think she's strong and a boss, and I'm proud of her.

Are there any funny behind-the-scenes stories that happened while you were in the house that didn't make the show?

Yeah, so Tanisha, before the vote, brought the choir for everybody. I did a corn party. So I made everybody corn. I set up a street corn bar with all the condiments and things, but it came out really bad. I never said I was a good chef, but it came out really bad. I'm almost kind of glad it didn't make the show because I was like "This is so lame. What am I doing?"

Wait, had you cooked corn before? Are you a big corn fan?

No, my nickname is Corn. So I made a little corn party to try to win everybody over, and I think that honestly just made it worse, because it was terrible.

How did Tanisha get the choir?

I think she set it up with the producers that night. Everyone thinks TV is such a big deal. It's like, no, you can really do whatever you want. And like the producers are there to help you make the show entertaining. Indirectly, we're producers as well. It's reality. So we just make sh-t up as we go.
