Bill Hader is putting his daughters first.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Barry actor declined to open up about his dating life—in particular, his past relationship with Rachel Bilson and his current romance with Anna Kendrick—out of respect for his daughters' privacy. He shares 12-year-old Hannah Hader, nine-year-old Harper Hader, and seven-year-old Hayley Hader with ex-wife Maggie Carey.
"They just want me to be their dad," he told the outlet. "They just want me to sit and watch Encanto over and over and over again. So that's what I do."
Hader added that he and Carey initially worried that the pandemic would negatively affect their children. "Maggie and I were just trying to keep them calm," he said. "And then, weirdly, it was the other way around. They would really keep us calm."
This past January, People reported that Hader and Kendrick had been "quietly" dating for more than a year after the two costarred in the 2019 Christmas movie Noelle.
"Anna has been dating Bill quietly for over a year," the insider said. "They met years ago. She's hosted Saturday Night Live and they've done a movie together, but they got together well after the movie."
The source added that the two value their own privacy, saying, "They are both very private people, and with the pandemic it was easy to keep it quiet. They're both hysterical so they must keep each other laughing all of the time. She's really, really happy."
Earlier this month, another insider told Entertainment Tonight that the couple have no plans to get married yet.
"Bill and Anna are in love and very happy in their relationship," the source said. "They're in no rush to get engaged and are happy with how things are going."
