Why Batiste Dry Shampoo Has a Permanent Place on My Shelf

Dear Batiste Dry Shampoo,

Falling in love can feel like different things for different people. Perhaps your stomach drops in on it's own invisible rollercoaster ride. You might feel faintly, pleasantly dizzy. For me, it was the flood of giddy relief that came the first time I woke up four days after my last shampoo and realized that, thanks to you, I could get away with going at least 24 more hours without performing the tedious task of washing and drying my hair. It practically brought tears to my eyes.

At this point, years later, I've tried almost all of the dry shampoos one could possibly try. (I hope it doesn't upset you to hear that; I swear our brief trysts meant nothing to me.) Each time I swapped in a new product, I found myself missing all your best assets: your rice starch-based formula; your bergamot, rose, and lily scent; your unmatched ability to absorb oil without leaving too much of a buildup; your under-$7 price tag. Once I took the plunge into bleach blonde territory, I found another reason to love you: the white cast your spray-on powder leaves almost acts as a root touch-up for extremely light hair.

So, my darling Batiste Dry Shampoo, consider this love letter a pledge to save a permanent spot for you in my hair-care shelf. If I stray from you again, please know it's just because I literally have to test other products for work (especially with Allure Best of Beauty coming up)... but I'll always come back to you in the end.
