Whoa: Michelle Williams Secretly Got Married…

Michelle Williams has finally found love after loss.

Ten years after the tragic death of her late husband, Heath Ledger, the I Feel Pretty star revealed in the latest Vanity Fair issue that she married musician Phil Elverum, who performs under the name Mount Eerie. The couple wed in an intimate ceremony in the Adirondacks with their friends and family present at an undisclosed time.

Although Williams has been notoriously private about her love life since Ledger’s passing, she clarified that she “never gave up on love.”

Williams explained, “I always say to Matilda [her 12-year-old daughter], ‘Your dad [Ledger] loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.’ Obviously, I’ve never once in my life talked about a relationship…but Phil isn’t anyone else. And that’s worth something…I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free.”

The couple was able to build a strong foundation through their shared yet heartbreaking experience with losing spouses. Elverum’s late wife, Geneviève Castrée, passed away from pancreatic cancer in July of 2016. She and Elverum had one daughter together who is now 3 years old. They now reside with Williams and Matilda in Brooklyn, New York.

Williams went on to explain why she kept their relationship private and said she hopes their love in the wake of tragedy helps others who have experienced loss.

“I don’t really want to talk about any of it. But there’s that tease, that lure, that’s like, ‘What if this helps somebody? What if somebody who has always journeyed in this way, who has struggled as much as I struggled, and looked as much as I looked, finds something that helps them?’”

*Sniffles* We love a happy ending.
