  • Whitney Way Thore, star of TLC's My Big Fat Fabulous Life, has dealt with body shamers for a while—and is no stranger to clapping back at them.

  • Thursday, Whitney took to Instagram to address another type of unsolicited comments on her body: congratulations for weight loss.

  • “I’m just not out here to be anybody’s weight loss inspiration," she wrote in her inspirational post.

Whitney Way Thore has always been outspoken when it comes to her body and weight, especially when it comes to other people commenting about it. In 2018 she clapped back at commenters that were body shaming her. And she clapped back again when her Instagram followers thought she was photoshopping her pics back in June.

Thursday, the TLC My Big Fat Fabulous Life star, 35, took to her Instagram to talk about recent comments from her followers that were congratulating her for losing weight.

"Just had to get this off my chest," Whitney wrote. "Reminder: your value does not increase if your weight decreases. You can implement healthy behaviors as a fat person or a thin person independent of weight. Changing your body is not the 🔑 to happiness, but changing your mindset is. 💯"

In the video, she addresses people who have been commenting on her supposed weight loss.

“I’ve been reading my comments, and a large majority of them are people congratulating me for losing some amount of weight that you have perceived that I have lost, but I guarantee you that I’m still fat as s**t, and this hasn’t changed from day 1,” she said. “I’m just not out here to be anybody’s weight loss inspiration.”

She continued to say that, while she's glad she can inspire others in her journey, her weight is not her focus in life.

“If you’re inclined to be inspired by me, I appreciate that, I see you, but I’m just a complex human being focusing on a lot of other things in life besides losing weight,” she said. “So it’s just not something I will ever feel comfortable saying thank you for. If you’re inspired by me that’s wonderful, I’m glad, but I hope it’s because I’m a woman who learned to love herself no matter what size she is.”

Well said, Whitney!
