The actor was allegedly fired from his role on the Apple TV+ series 'Mythic Quest.'

F. Murray Abraham is speaking out for the first time about the recent reports claiming he was fired from his former role on the Apple TV+ series Mythic Quest following allegations of sexual misconduct.

As Parade reported earlier this week, the 83-year-old actor was allegedly let go from the show last April due to complaints about his behavior on set. Despite Abraham being "given a warning," at one point, sources claimed that a second incident on set ultimately cost the actor his job.

Now, days after the reports made headlines, the White Lotus alum has come forward to address the situation directly, writing in a statement to Rolling Stone on Thursday, April 20, "This is a sincere and deeply felt apology."

"Though never my intention to offend anyone, I told jokes, nothing more, that upset some of my colleagues and as a result lost a great job with wonderful people," he candidly told the publication. "I have grown in my understanding from this experience, and I hope they will forgive me."

Abraham's departure from the show was announced back in April 2022, with producer Lionsgate telling Deadline at the time, "F. Murray Abraham will not be returning to season three of Mythic Quest. Beyond that, we do not comment on matters concerning personnel."

Following the new reports this week, Lionsgate told Rolling Stone, "We take allegations of misconduct seriously and investigate them thoroughly. As a matter of corporate policy, we do not discuss our personnel actions."

Abraham—who joined the Mythic Quest cast back in 2019—appeared as C.W. Longbottom during his time on the show. Following his exit, he was written out of the script by giving his character a terminal illness, which led him to drive off a cliff into the Grand Canyon.

“It’s a bummer to not have Murray in this season,” the show's creator and star Rob McElhenney told Variety last May. “But we recognize that C.W. is a beloved character and obviously a huge part of the show. So, we made sure that we have a really fitting tribute to him. We definitely address it in a big way."

The Apple TV+ series has already been renewed for season four.
