From Country Living

Nothing gets our hearts racing like a real estate sign planted in the yard of a pretty lil' country property, so when we stumbled across an Instagram listing for an 1870 cottage in Hartwell, Georgia (about 100 miles northeast of Atlanta)—a property complete with original mantels, high ceilings, and beautiful hardwoods—we couldn't help but slow our scroll (that's the internet version of screeching the brakes). That happy porch! Those cheerful yellow shutters! And then—lo and behold!—it turns out this soulful beauty is free to the old house enthusiast who is willing to move it by June! Yep, you read that right: It's free to you if you can move the 150-year-old property off the lot by June.

Interested in this 1,992-square-foot charmer that's chock full of history, spacious rooms, and a stately center hall? If we don't beat you there first, you can contact Scott Reed (savingoldhouses@gmail.com), the serial house restorer and interior designer behind the Instagram feed @savingoldhouses, for all of the details. Don't forget to write “I WANT TO SAVE THE HARTWELL HOUSE!” in the subject line in all CAPS, because, well, time is of the essence, folks. When you're all finished restoring this sweet little property, remember that Country Living would like dibs on the photo shoot, because we can't resist a good before-and-after around here—especially when it involves hauling a whole house down the highway.

Now let's take a quick look around, shall we?
