NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Watch every Thursday morning as WhereYat.com and Where Y’at Magazine bring the top picks of great things to do in the beautiful city of New Orleans.

Happy Mother’s Day! If you’re looking for something fun to do with mom, this weekend has wonderful options, including sorcerous cinema accompanied by a live orchestra, boiled seafood served with bubbles, and a delicious brunch: here are Where Y’at’s picks!

Some of this weekend’s events include:

  • First, take mom to the Saenger Theater to watch the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban while listening to the harmonic tunes of the LPO. Concerts are Friday at 8 p.m. and on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Based on the third installment, relive the magic of your favorite wizard.

  • Next, what’s better than bringing mom to a mouthwatering seafood boil? Head to the New Orleans Lakefront on Saturday for the Brews, Boils, and Bubbles Fest. There’ll be live music by the Soul Rebels, Big Sam, and more. Enjoy meal packages that include champagne and even fresh lobster!s.

  • For those with little ones, Baby Shark is swimming down to the Mahalia Jackson Theater for his Big “Broadwave” Tour. Baby Shark and friends will be performing on both Saturday and Mother’s Day Sunday. The performance is fun for all ages, so don’t miss out before he swims back home!

  • Finally, celebrate everything mom has done for you by escorting her to a lovely brunch. Treat your mother like a queen at Cafe Normandie in the Higgins Hotel at their Mother’s Day Brunch. This special brunch will feature delicious entrees, live jazz music, bottomless mimosas, and more.
