Where Are 'The Voice' Winners Now? Here's What They've Been Up To

After 15 weeks of blind auditions, battle rounds and intense knockouts, we've seen several The Voice winners sing their way to the top. And it all started with a humble Connecticut native named Javier Colon, who became the show's first winner in 2011. Now, over a decade later, 22 more champions have followed in his stead, but we want to know: Where are they now?

As we tune in to season 24—featuring the incomparable Reba McEntire as a new coach—and patiently await the finale, we're taking a trip down memory lane to revisit some of our favorite seasons. From Tessanne Chin and Jordan Smith to Brynn Cartelli, see what The Voice winners are up to now.

Season 1 (2011): Javier Colon

• Now: Colon does live shows with his band and shares covers of popular songs on social media.

Immediately after his time on The Voice, he signed with Universal Music Group and released his debut album, Come Through for You. However, he parted ways with the label and moved on to Concord Records, where he released Gravity in 2016. On his official website, Colon discussed his goals for the album. He said, "I wanted to make an album where I could be free to be myself, with no walls or boundaries. I wanted the freedom to be myself musically, and I was surrounded by people who encouraged me to do that."

Colon hasn’t released any new albums since, but in 2013, he launched a weekly series called Inside Voice with Javier Colon, which he co-hosts with Jenn Bosworth. Also, in 2022, he appeared as a judge for the vocal competition, Let’s Hear It, in Connecticut.

Season 2 (2012): Jermaine Paul

• Now: The Grammy-nominated artist is currently the CEO of CJAS Music. He still does live shows.

Paul's victory marked Blake Shelton's first win as a coach on the show, and the two even collaborated on a song called "Soul Man." He followed up with multiple singles, including "I Believe in This Life," "Working Sista," "Next to You" and most recently, "Water," which he released in 2019.

While discussing his growth as an artist on The Voice, He told Hollywood Reporter, “This whole experience kind of sharpened my blade. Even Blake being my coach, his questions and his song ideas helped me focus on what I really wanted to get across to the world and America, what I really want to say.”

Season 3 (2012): Cassadee Pope

• Now: Her most recent singles include "Almost There," "Coma" and Wasting All These Tears." She’s also doing a live show with Natalia Taylor and Sierra Annie in Tenessee.

After becoming the first female winner of The Voice, her debut solo country album, Frame by Frame, dropped in 2013 and peaked at number one on the Top Country Albums chart. She went on to release two more country albums, including Stages and Thrive, but then she returned to her pop-punk roots in 2022. She told Icon vs. Icon, “This next project has an authenticity that I've never been able to tap into before now...Pop and rock music is such a staple in my creativity so to fully return back to that genre feels special and like coming back home."

She released "People That I Love Leave" in April 2023, and in October, she released a new recording of "Wasting All These Tears," switching the sound from country to pop-punk.

Season 4 (2013): Danielle Bradbery

• Now: She headlined her A Special Place Tour in 2023, and in September, she released her latest single, "The Day That I'm Over You." Bradbery also has a tour docuseries called My Human Diary.

After winning with Shelton as her coach, Bradbery released her debut album, Danielle Bradbery, in 2013 and dropped her sophomore album, I Don't Believe We've Met, in 2017. In 2018, she shifted to covering popular songs for her fans, including Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain," and in 2019, her song "Blackout" was included in the motion picture soundtrack for Charlie's Angels.

While speaking with Hollywood Life in April 2023, she teased that fans can expect a "new era" of music. She said, “I have been through a lot of stages of my career. And I mean, starting at 16, such a vulnerable age…I feel like no matter what, you’re always going to be learning, evolving. That’s life. We’re human, that’s what happens. But those are such fragile years, and it’s been a rollercoaster ride of figuring out who I am and things that I love and now have outgrown.”

Season 5 (2013): Tessanne Chin

• Now: Chin launched a creative development program called Voice Box, which aims to develop the talents of children ages six to 18. She also released a new song, called "Surreal," in September 2023.

Fellow Jamaican artist Shaggy encouraged Chin to audition for The Voice, which ultimately led to her victory for Team Adam in season five. She went on to do several live shows, performing alongside artists like Lauryn Hill, Sean Paul and Damian Marley. She also sang for former President Barack Obama at the White House in March 2014.

Chin released her album, Count On My Love, under Republic Records in July 2014, but then she left the label in 2015 and released her single, "Fire." The singer has since been performing for major events—like the 42nd Daytime Emmy Awards—while spearheading Voice Box and working on music.

Season 6 (2014): Josh Kaufman

• Now: Kaufman currently sings with his band, The New Etiquette. He also offers lessons and workshops for singing, guitar playing, songwriting and song production.

Following his stint on The Voice as a member of Team Usher, Kaufman did quite a few live shows and briefly ventured into acting, landing the lead role in Broadway's 2013 revival of Pippin and performing in Home For the Holidays, Live on Broadway. He also has a total of four albums, including Forgetting...To Remember...To Forget and NDOXO Vol. 1, which was released in 2019.

Season 7 (2014): Craig Wayne Boyd

• Now: Boyd released his song "Let it Ride (Let It Roll)" in November 2023, and he's currently on a U.S. tour, with upcoming performances in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and more.

After being crowned the winner of season seven, Boyd made his Grand Ole Opry debut and proceeded to tour in 65 cities. He released his first, self-titled album in 2008, then he followed up with three more albums, including I Ain't No Quitter, Top Shelf and From the Inbetween. Quite a few of his singles made the Hot Country Songs chart, like "I Walk the Line" and "Boots On," which features Shelton.

Season 8 (2015): Sawyer Fredericks

• Now: He dropped his latest EP, called The Golden Tree, in February 2023. The musician has also been busy doing live shows in places like Connecticut and New York.

After winning the competition at just 16 years old, Fredericks landed a record deal and released a self-titled EP before dropping his first album, A Good Storm. He has since released two more albums, including Flowers for You and Hide Your Ghost, which peaked at number 23 on the Billboard's U.S. Indie Chart.

His song, “Silent World,” was featured on the season six premiere of Netflix’s original series Longmire, and in fall 2021, he co-headlined a U.S. tour with The Accidentals.

Season 9 (2015): Jordan Smith

• Now: Smith joined Tauren Wells and Katy Nichole on the This Is Jesus Christmas Tour in 2023. He also released his holiday single, “Joy to the World,” in November.

After winning for Team Adam, the powerhouse vocalist made history as the highest-selling artist to compete on the show, thanks mainly to his cover of "Mary, Did You Know?" He has since released three albums, including Something Beautiful, 'Tis the Season and Only Love. Plus, in 2022, he represented Kentucky while participating in the American Song Contest and finished in third place with his song, “Sparrow.”

Season 10 (2016): Alisan Porter

• Now: Porter tied the knot with her longtime partner, Justin de Vera, in April 2023. She also collaborated with Blues Traveler for their new track, "Tired of Being Alone," in October 2023 and released her single, "Meant for Me," in December 2023.

The actress and singer boasted an impressive resume even before she made it to The Voice, with more than a dozen acting credits and two albums to her name. After winning The Voice as part of Team Christina, she debuted her first EP, I Come in Pieces, in 2017 and she dropped her third studio album, Pink Cloud, in 2019.

Season 11 (2016): Sundance Head

• Now: He’ll be touring in a few U.S. states, including Colorado and Texas, from December 2023 to August 2024.

Fun fact: Head was a former semi-finalist on American Idol, but he fared much better on season 11 of The Voice. After winning as part of Team Blake, the country singer signed with Dean Dillon's Wildcatter Records and released his album, Stained Glass and Neon, in 2019. Head has also played a few concerts and opened for the country group Zac Brown Band.

Season 12 (2017): Chris Blue

• Now: He recently collaborated with Common Hymnal to release the song "Prison Doors," and he continues to do live shows.

Blue came out on top after filling the final spot on Team Alicia, and he has since released a few singles, including "You Are My Heaven" and "Humanity." While chatting with Knox News in December 2020, he revealed he is working on an EP called The Chris Blue Project. Although he has yet to release it, Blue did drop his single, "Back 2 The Future," in 2020, followed by "Moon," in April 2021.

Season 13 (2017): Chloe Kohanski

• Now: She has her own label, called Special Baby, and she’s working on her debut album, All the Same, All OK.

After winning the show for Team Blake, Kohanski signed with Republic Records and released her debut single, "Come This Far," in 2018. But in 2019, she switched things up by tweaking her stage name to Chloe MK and started releasing her music independently. She released her first EP, Fantasy, in 2019 and her single, “Cosmic,” in 2020.

In a 2021 interview with The Luna Collective, the artist discussed her inspiration for the first album. She said, “This album is the raw starting point. I co-produced this album with one of my best friends. We wrote every song together, recorded them together, and then worked with Zac Farro from Paramore to mix the record. It’s not perfect, but I want to have my starting point and give people something unapologetically raw.”

Season 14 (2018): Brynn Cartelli

• Now: She released “Second Hand Smoke” in February 2023 and "Lucky to Love You" in October of the same year.

Cartelli was crowned the winner at 15 years old, making her the youngest contestant to win. After her victory, she signed with Atlantic Records, got nominated for a People's Choice Award (for Competition Contestant of 2018) and opened for Kelly Clarkson on her Meaning of Life Tour in January 2019. Cartelli then released her debut EP, Based on a True Story—which peaked at number seven on the iTunes Charts—in May 2021.

Season 15 (2018): Chevel Shepherd

• Now: She appeared as a young singer in the 2022 mystery film, Vengeance. Her upcoming movie, Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse, is hitting theaters early in 2024.

After becoming the first country artist on Team Kelly to win the show, Shepherd joined Maroon 5 for their Red Pill Blues Tour as their opening act in 2019. Then, in 2021, she released her debut album, Everybody's Got a Story.

On Instagram, the singer announced that her movie Wildfire, where she plays Samantha Nichols, will hit theaters in January 2024. She wrote, " I’m so thrilled to finally be able to announce this to you all. All of us cast, crew and everyone else involved put so much hard work into this, so we’re excited for the world to see it! Also excited as this being the first film I’ve ever acted in."

Season 16 (2019): Maelyn Jarmon

• Now: She is working on new music and set to portray the role of Cathy in Core Theatre Group's The Last Five Years in February 2024.

Team John Legend's Jarmon landed a record deal with Republic Records and released her original song, "Wait For You," and performed the national anthem at A Capitol Fourth—an annual Independence Day concert special. The artist kept a relatively low profile and hasn’t released new songs since then, but in 2023, she revealed that she is making her acting debut in 2024. On IG, she wrote, “This is a DREEEEEAM role for me and I couldn’t be more excited to be doing this beautiful show with @groupcoretheatre directed by the incredible @jessicamcroberts.”

Season 17 (2019): Jake Hoot

• Now: Hoot released his latest single, “It Wouldn’t be Christmas,” in November 2023. In December, he’ll perform alongside Laura Osnes and Rachel Hale at Carols for Monroe Carell—a collaboration to benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital.

Following his victory as part of Team Kelly, Hoot dropped his first single, "Better Off Without You," in 2019, followed by his Grand Ole Opry debut in February 2020. He also played a few live shows in Tennessee and opened for the band Alabama during their North America Tour.

Season 18 (2020): Todd Tilghman

• Now: The pastor-turned-singer has been performing at concerts and festivals while releasing new singles. These include his cover of “Goodness of God,” "Dig My Grave" and, most recently, "Still to Come."

Although he won at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it didn’t slow down his post-victory success. Following the show, his coach, Shelton, invited him to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He also did a concert at Dollywood in Tennessee. Tilghman has since released multiple songs, like “Worth It All” and “Home Wasn’t Built in a Day.”

Season 19 (2020): Carter Rubin

• Now: Rubin is writing and recording new music. He released his single, "Mess Me Up," in April 2023 and his second song, “Last Time,” in June 2023.

At just 15 years old, he became one of the youngest contestants to win The Voice after joining Team Gwen. Since then, he has released four singles, including "Horoscope" and "Time Machine." In July 2023, he told Popdust, “My sound has grown so much since being 14-15 then, I’ve done a lot of growing up in two years. Now I know what I want and who I am today… sonically and what I want to say lyrically. I have a vision for my career at this point in my life, and I’m so ready for the next chapter. I know I’ll keep evolving and that process is so cool to me.”

Season 20 (2021): Cam Anthony

• Now: After releasing his debut single, “Keep It Between Us,” Anthony has been doing live shows in L.A.

The soulful singer has been winning fans over since 2013, when he went viral on YouTube for his song covers. However, his fame skyrocketed when he competed on The Voice and won season 20 as part of Team Blake. After this, he did a live performance at the annual Philadelphia Welcome America Festival in 2021, and he later returned to The Voice as a guest to offer advice to new competitors on the show.

Season 21 (2021): Girl Named Tom

• Now: ​​The folk-pop trio is currently performing a string of live shows for their One More Christmas Tour.

​​Girl Named Tom actually made history as the first-ever trio to win the competition, thanks in part to their coach, Kelly Clarkson. The group has since released a holiday album, called One More Christmas, and they opened for the Pentatonix A Christmas Spectacular tour in 2022.

Following their victory, the siblings appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022. Caleb said, “We have this platform now, that we never could've dreamed of, and we've been writing during Covid, in our little house in South Bend. We've got some great music, and we can't wait to share it.”

Season 22 (2022): Bryce Leatherwood

• Now: Leatherwood is working on his debut album, following the release of his debut single, “The Finger,” in October 2023.

He made history by becoming the first winner of the Wildcard instant save to win the season, and his victory marked Shelton's ninth (and final) win as a coach. The singer went on to perform at Shelton's bar chain, Ole Red, including locations in Florida, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Before releasing his first single, “The Finger,” he wrote on Instagram, “I can’t thank everyone enough who was involved in creating this song. From the songwriters who let me cut this song to the hard work from the incredibly talented musicians who played on this trac…As my first release, I wanted it to feel authentic to the country sound I have always loved and appreciated.”

Season 23 (2023): Gina Miles

• Now: The 20-year-old singer is currently working on new music. She teased her upcoming single, called “Someone New,” in September 2023 and opened for Jewel’s concert at The Venue at Thunder Valley.

Several fans were in for a surprise when Miles won season 23 of The Voice, marking coach Niall’s first win on the show. Many expected runner-up Grace West, from Shelton's team, to win, but Miles ultimately scored the title by the slimmest margin in all twenty-three seasons of the show. Since then, the artist has done multiple live shows in her hometown and performed the national anthem at a special graduation ceremony for Sacramento-based firefighters.
