It’s not often that a show comes around and changes our life forever. (We’re looking at you The Office and This Is Us). But when one does, we feel the need to learn absolutely everything about it. Enter: Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. Not only have we done our research on the cast, but we also recently began digging into the location of the award-winning comedy. So, where is Ted Lasso filmed? Keep reading for everything we know.

We should probably start by explaining the premise of the show for those who aren’t familiar.

Jason Sudeikis stars as Ted, an overly-enthusiastic American college football coach who—fresh off a Division II championship win at Wichita State in Kansas—gets plucked to lead AFC Richmond, a mostly mediocre Premier League soccer team in the U.K. Oh, and did we mention he has no experience coaching soccer?

So, because the series takes place mostly in the U.K., we weren’t quite sure if it was filmed across the pond or in a film studio in Hollywood. Turns out, it’s the real deal. According to The Cinemaholic, the producers were adamant that it be shot in the U.K. to “feel authentic."

As a result, they opted to shoot at the West London Film Studios in Hayes, Hillingdon, and used real sports venues throughout the season to make sure the games looked real.

“The first burden for anybody who’s made a sports movie or TV show is that it’s really easy to make one that looks fake,” Lawrence told the New York Post. “The football aspects of it needed to look real. We were lucky enough to use real venues.”

We wonder when the Lasso gang will be headed back to London to start filming season two.
