Where to recycle your eclipse glasses

CLEVELAND (WJW) – After being wowed by the total solar eclipse passing through Northeast Ohio on Monday, many are now wondering how to dispose of their eclipse-safe glasses.

What were the red bursts coming from behind the moon during the eclipse?

In Northeast Ohio, Astronomers Without Borders has teamed up with Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District to collect, ship and re-use eclipse glasses for worldwide distribution. Many local libraries and even the Cleveland Metroparks have recycling boxes for eclipse glasses.
