While we can't actually visit the Otherworld (or really any place right now due to the pandemic), that's not stoping us from trying to figure out if Alfea is a real place IRL. Not only is it basically our new Hogwarts, it's also where all our favorite fairies and specialists go to learn from the best of the best in Fate: The Winx Saga. While we might not have any cool powers or come from any long lines of fighters, we can still plan a visit to the "school" to check it out for ourselves. So can we actually go to Alfea? And where is it located?

*Major spoilers for season 1 of Fate: The Winx Saga below!*

Here is everything you need to know about where Fate: The Winx Saga was filmed.

What exactly is the Otherworld?

As we already know, the Otherworld is another completely different place from the Earth we grew up in. Think of it as another realm that magical beings are able to traveling in and out of. Just like Earth that we all grew up in, there's different countries and rulers. Unlike our realm, it's not too shocking to see someone set something on fire or use spells.

What is the First World?

The First World is basically our own Earth. Bloom was raised in the First World after she was switched at birth. While the Otherworld is well aware of the First World, the same can't be said for the other way around. In fact, Bloom ends up lying to her parents and telling them that she's actually in Switzerland instead of Solaria where Alfea is located.

Is Alfea filmed at a real place?

Alfea might be located in the Otherworld in Fate: The Winx Saga, it's actually a house in County Wicklow, Ireland. Killruddery House was originally built in the 17th century and was remodeled and extended in 1820, according to the house's official record.

And yes, you can totally visit. The home hosts tours of the inside and its gardens. It also has a tea room and farm shop. You can even rent the place out for private events or weddings if you really want to host something there.
