Where Is Morgan Doughty From "Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal" Now?

Netflix's true crime docuseries Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal covers the tragic 2019 boating incident that resulted in the passing of 19-year-old Mallory Beach, as well as other mysterious deaths in the South Carolina town that followed. The three episode series delves into the fall of the powerful and wealthy Murdaugh family as well as the murders that began to surround them, beginning with the double homicide of Paul Murdaugh (who was driving the boat when Beach died) and his mother, Maggie Murdaugh.
Father and husband Alex Murdaugh was just sentenced for both murders in legal proceedings that have also pulled in the unexplained deaths of family housekeeper Gloria Satterfield and teenager Stephen Smith, who was rumored to have been secretly intimate with Buster Murdaugh. A list of 250 potential witnesses in the trial include Alex's son Buster Murdaugh, as well as brothers Randy Murdaugh and John Marvin Murdaugh, sister-in-law Liz Murdaugh, and Maggie Murdaugh's family members.
Although the surviving teens of the boat crash (with the exception of Connor Cook, who already testified) have not been extensively involved in Alex's legal proceedings, all participated in the Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal documentary — including Paul's ex-girlfriend, Morgan Doughty.
Morgan and Paul began dating during their junior year of high school, after Morgan moved from New York to South Carolina a few years prior. In the Netflix series, Morgan detailed how their relationship was fraught with physical, verbal, and emotional abuse and shared that she clung to it because "when it was good, it was really good. But when it was bad, it was really bad."
Morgan explained that drinking was prevalent amongst the whole Murdaugh family, and that Paul was the most abusive while he was drunk. According to her account, Paul had kicked her, punched her, and grabbed her by the throat. The couple had altercations and verbal arguments about his level of intoxication and his attempts to drive while drunk. Morgan alleged that she was chastised by the Murdaugh family for calling 911 after Paul drunk-crashed his truck, and the family ultimately covered up the incident.
Morgan was close friends with both girls on the boat — Mallory Beach, sole victim of the incident, and Miley Altman, then- and current girlfriend of Connor Cook. Miley shared in Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal that she didn't like Morgan's relationship with Paul and disapproved of his drinking habits.
So, where is Morgan Doughty now?
Morgan has kept a low profile online, with the exception of her appearance in the Netflix docuseries. She has shared images taken in both New York and South Carolina on her social media, although it is unconfirmed where she is currently living. Some sources report that she is now a dental hygienist.

Did she sustain a hand injury?
Morgan suffered severe hand injuries from the boat crash. Her mother, Diane Doughty, explained in the documentary that her daughter needed sutures to fix peeled back skin on her hands. In 2022, Morgan's lawyer filed a lawsuit for $10 million dollars against the Murdaugh family, citing injuries to her "hand, finger and other parts of her body,” as well as “permanent scarring and disfigurement.”
Morgan wears another reminder of the boat crash on her body in the form of a tattoo, seemingly in memory of Mallory. She shared an image of the "M" tattooed onto her arm on social media.

Before her Instagram went private, Morgan posted photos with Miley and with Batten, her boyfriend since 2019.
