Where Is 'Ginny & Georgia' Filmed? Here’s the Scoop on the Netflix Show’s Real Location

From The Pioneer Woman

The mysterious Georgia Miller (Brianne Howey) has spent her life running from one place to the next. But as she promises her daughter, Ginny (Antonia Gentry), and son, Austin (Diesel La Torraca), over and over again: "Wellsbury is different."

From the moment the Millers roll into town in Georgia's BMW convertible in the pilot of Netflix's Ginny & Georgia, it's clear that they've really fallen hard for Wellsbury's charms. Including the skeptical Ginny, despite her initial complaint that Wellsbury feels like "Paul Revere meets pumpkin spice latte."

It's easy to see why this little family of three loves Wellsbury, Massachusetts. With its quaint streets, perfectly manicured lawns, and grand historical buildings, Wellsbury is like a dream town come to life. Unfortunately, Wellsbury is actually just that—a town someone dreamed up. More about where Ginny & Georgia was filmed below!

Is Wellsbury a real place?

Nope. Cancel your plans to move to Wellsbury because it is not a real place. Wow, this news is almost as surprising as the season 1 finale.

Fans may be surprised to learn that, for all its Paul Revere/pumpkin spice latte vibes, Ginny & Georgia wasn't even filmed in the U.S. Much of the series's outdoor scenes were actually shot in Ontario, Canada in the quaint little town of Cobourg. Meanwhile, interiors for the series, like the insides of Georgia's stunning home and the mayor's office, were filmed at TriBro Studios in Toronto, Canada, according to IMDb.

Can you visit any of the "Ginny & Georgia" filming locations?

Yes! Okay, maybe not right now, due to the current COVID-19 travel restrictions. But no one is stopping you from planning a future visit to Cobourg, "the gem of Lake Ontario." The waterfront town dates back to 1798 and is home to several spots that appear in Ginny & Georgia, including Audrey's In Town Fashions, the former El Camino restaurant (a.k.a. Blue Farm Café), and the city's town hall, Victoria Hall (the Wellsbury Arts Center in the show).

The town really got into its role: All of the Canadian flags in downtown Cobourg were even replaced with American ones, according to a tweet from the town.

Well, if the town can play along, so can we. Wellsbury, Mass., we're coming for you!
