Here’s where Florida ranked on this ‘best states to work from home’ list and why

Whether working from home makes your job easier or harder depends on a lot of key factors. The state you live in is one of them.

Personal finance company WalletHub determined which states are the best for work-from-home employees by measuring all 50 states’ living and working environments with 12 key metrics, like the average cost of electricity, the cost of quality internet service and the share of employees working from home in each state.

Although Florida didn’t rank in the WalletHub’s top 10 best states for working from home, the Sunshine State did place on the top 20 list. Here’s where Florida ranked for remote workers and why.

Which state has the best remote jobs?

“Working from home can save people a lot of money on transportation expenses, as well as make their work environment a lot more comfortable and their hours more flexible,” WalletHub Analyst Cassandra Happe said in the study.

“However, things like energy costs, internet speed, home sizes and how many people live together can greatly impact people’s savings and productivity. While work-from-home jobs can be done anywhere, certain states make the practice much better than others.”

New Jersey ranked as the best state for working from home on WalletHub’s rankings list, due to its cheap internet prices, high access to broadband internet and high cybersecurity. Utah and Delaware took second and third place.
