Exactly what they sound like, this style of denim is the older sister of the ripped pair of jeans you swore you’d never stopped wearing. But this time, instead of ripped knees, it’s a ripped lower buttocks for a sexier version of the staple you know and love.

Ariel’s high-waisted, light wash pair are simple enough to work with the strategically placed rip. She finished off the look with a white crop top and a black motorcycle, which really helped to pull the whole look together. If you want to try the trend but are too nervous, remember you can always DIY these and place the slash where you’d have your shorts cut off. If you’re feeling feisty, you can try placing the slit higher up, it’s do it YOURSELF, so do whatever makes you feel the most confident! Many retailers are sold out of this style, so it’s worth it to make them custom if you’re up to the challenge.
