We particularly love buying taper candles here — the retailer offers not only funky designs, but also affordable ones, at that.

Why we love it: Target has something for everyone — which means it also carries excellent items for the design-minded. On the Christmas front, it's clear a lot of thought goes into its holiday pieces, which are consistently accessible, stylish, and oh-so affordable. While many pieces in its massive holiday collection are quite stylish and on-trend, I find Target is best known for its unbeatable prices. 25pc ornament sets for $10, faux trees for $55 ... if you're (snow)balling on a budget this season, Target is undoubtedly the place for you. Otherwise, I'd recommend checking out Wayfair. As I mentioned, you might have to dig a bit to find what you like, but there's no doubt in my mind that the gems are there. And hey, isn't the journey part of the fun anyway?

It's a bit less whimsical than Anthropologie, but nonetheless up on trends.
