  • Wheel of Fortune viewers have a lot of thoughts about Pat Sajak's recent icy behavior.

  • Many are now asking the game show host to be "kinder" toward contestants.

  • In November, Pat jokingly snapped at contestant Darin McBain for arguing with him.

  • Neither Pat nor Wheel of Fortune have commented on the negative fan reactions online.

Pat Sajak is worrying some Wheel of Fortune fans.

Over the past few weeks, the longtime game show host has prompted concern after displaying what viewers are calling "testy" behavior toward recent Wheel of Fortune contestants. It began late last month when Pat had a playful meltdown with contestant Darin McBain, who took issue with an answer on the board during one of the rounds.

After the contestant argued that no one actually uses the winning phrase "kitchen oven," Pat yelled, "Don't! You won! Don't argue, Darin! ... You got the puzzle. Ungrateful players! I've had it!” Pat later apologized to Darin and admitted to having "finally snapped" while on the show.

Then last week, while joking around with a contestant named Greg, viewers caught Pat giving the contender a rather sassy look. On a different episode, Pat clapped back at a contestant named Sheryl when she tried to make her next move while he was promoting Dick's Sporting Goods on the show.

"Never interrupt me. Never, never interrupt a plug," Pat told the apologetic contestant. With a smile, Pat then added, "You can do anything else but don't interrupt. I'm sorry, what'd you want to do?"

In reaction to the various instances, a handful of fans online expressed their worry and pleaded with Pat to check his attitude. "My goodness @patsajak, please be kinder to your contestants. What has happened to you? yikes," one fan tweeted. "He’s almost ruining the show. Now I actually wait for him to lose it or get angry or say something condescending...wth...," another fan remarked in response to the Greg incident. "Is Pat ok? The last couple episodes he has been a bit testy with contestants....Very unusual...," a different fan wondered.

On the flip side, there were many viewers that jumped to Pat's defense on Twitter. Some said it was clear Pat was simply joking around with the contestants and people were making a big deal out of nothing.

"We think Pat is perfect as the host. He is why we watch the show. Some contestants are loud and rude. We admire how Pat can moderate wittily keeping the show interesting and humorous. I'm sure his job is not easy. The people who are complaining are the testy ones," one fan tweeted in Pat's defense. Another proudly declared, "@Patsajak we love you! Seems the press is on your back lately but some contestants recently have been extremely rude. The world is chaotic!"

Meanwhile, Pat has stayed quiet about all the online noise.
