What's new at the Mu? Children's art classes set

The Massillon Museum has announced three children’s classes for May. MassMu classes are open to everyone. To register for classes, visit MassillonMuseum.org/Tickets or call the Museum at 330-833-4061.

Highlights

Students in grades four through nine may register for Art 101 with instructor Angelina Verginis. The class will meet Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. The fee, $20 ($15 for MassMu members), includes all supplies.

For children in pre-K (with an adult) through grade three, Verginis will teach an Art Exploration workshop. Children will create their own masterpieces. Art Exploration will meet from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The class fee, $30 ($25 per MassMu member), includes all supplies.

Children in grades four through nine will make their own masterpieces in an Art Exploration workshop with Verginis on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All supplies are included in the fee, $30 ($25 per Museum member). After attending this class, families can visit a dozen Museum galleries to see local history exhibits and a 1907 Jewel auto manufactured in Massillon; decorative and fine arts; a photography gallery; contemporary art; football and baseball history, art, and artifacts in the Paul Brown Museum; and the Immel Circus complete with a 100-square-foot diorama, circus costumes, and posters.
