Save the date for the beautiful marriage between donut and waffle. When: ASAP. Where: Your kitchen. Guests: Whoever you're willing to share with. Attire: Sprinkle glam. #Wonut.
Introducing the wonut! A donut and waffle hybrid love child. Gone are the days when you have to choose between driving by Dunkin' and heading to the waffle house. You can have it all, right in your home kitchen.
To make wonuts, start by making a baked donut batter. Don't worry, no yeast or rising required-just flour, sugar, milk, egg, baking soda and baking powder. Once your wet and dry ingredients are mixed together, pour the batter into the waffle iron and voila! It's as easy as that.
A combination of chocolate and sprinkles was our topping of choice, but a simple dusting of powdered sugar would be equally satisfying. Use your favorite donut flavor as your inspiration and go nuts!
