What's Actually Worth Buying at Bath & Body Works, According to a Former Bath & Body Works Employee

I had a few jobs throughout college, including working in a bookstore and waitressing, but I had one clear favorite: Bath & Body Works. I worked at the Bath & Body Works in my local mall for three years during college and I loved (almost) every minute of it. Working in retail had its obvious disadvantages (Black Friday, I’m looking at you), but I loved my co-workers and most of all, the products. When I worked there, we were encouraged to test new products ourselves and we also received a hefty employee discount so nearly every spare inch of my dorm (and then apartment) was filled with Bath & Body Works products. By the time I left the job, I had enough products stockpiled to last me nearly two years so I would say I’m qualified to let you in on the products that are worth every one of your hard-earned dollars.

I have tested a lot of candles but none seem to be as strongly scented as Bath & Body Works’. They never smell artificial, last forever, and one candle is all it takes to fill the whole first floor of my home with beautiful aromas. Mahogany Teakwood will forever be my favorite candle scent, but Bath & Body Works adds fresh new scents to look forward to every season. This Citrus Grove scent is one of my current seasonal favorites.

I have super dry skin, even in the summer. While Bath & Body Works’ lotion isn’t bad, my dry skin needs more help so I always opt for the thicker body cream. It’s a lifesaver in the winter and lasts much longer than the lotion. I love this earthy Canyon scent right now, but the body cream is available in all of your favorite Bath & Body Works signature scents too.

Bath & Body Works has two types of soap, gel, and foaming, but the foaming hand soap is always my top soap recommendation. Maybe it’s all in my head, but I feel like the foam cleans the best and then you can walk away from the sink smelling like your favorite Bath & Body Works scent. Pink Pineapple Sunrise is one of Bath & Body Works’ new spring scents and every time I use it I feel like I just stepped out onto the beach.

All of the C.O. Bigelow lip products are fantastic, but if I could only choose one, it would be this Night Balm. It’s meant for nighttime use, but I love it so much it’s pretty much the only lip moisturizer I use during the dry, winter months. If you struggle with dry and cracked winter lips like I do, I can’t recommend this enough.

Candles will always be my favorite, but they aren’t always convenient. If I’m not going to be home, or just don’t want to worry about an open flame, these plug-in Wallflowers are the easiest way to scent a room. I love using these in bathrooms, where I typically don’t burn candles.
