Packing for a week-long holiday is hard enough for the best of us, so we can only imagine how difficult it is when you’re one of the world’s most photographed women - a la the Duchess of Cambridge.

Especially as the Duchess is reportedly selecting her own outfits for her upcoming six-day long tour to India and Bhutan.

Talk about pressure.

Kate is due to set off on her hotly-anticipated tour of in just under a week - a trip that will include a trek in the Himalayas, so at least one pair of sturdy footwear is bound to be packed among the Jenny Packham and Emilia Wickstead frocks and her trusty L.K. Bennet heels.

According to The Telegraph, the 34-year-old will pack a pair of £106 Hillmaster boots for the six-hour walk, which will take the Duchess and Prince William to the Tiger’s Nest monastery. Kate wore the exact same pair when she visited Borneo’s jungle, so she’s already broken them in.

She’ll pack some 12 to 15 outfits for the six-day tour, including a range of daytime dresses and evening gowns to suit the huge variety of occasions she and Wills will attend.

Selecting these dresses isn’t simply a matter of choosing what styles suit the Duchess and what she feels comfortable in: Kate’s private secretary reportedly took photographs of every single location she’ll visit on the trip to determine how formal the mum-of-two will need to dress and what colours will look best against the background.

“She is in charge of it herself and takes an interest in paying tribute to the host country with nods to their culture and local style on at least a few of the engagements,” a royal source told The Telegraph.

“The important factor on this tour is the heat, so that’s an issue that plays a big part in the choice of outfits.”

It’s thought that the Duchess may also wear some form of traditional dress at one point or another - as royals usually do when they’re on tour.

On previous tours, the Duchess has also opted to wear items from designers native to the country she’s visiting, such as wearing a dress by Canadian-born designer Erdem Moralioglu when she landed in Montreal in 2011.

Whatever the Duchess wears, she’s bound to look as on point as always and do our country proud.
