Westchester pizzeria added to the Michelin guide

Everyone loves pizza. And now the MICHELIN Guide has added Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in Yonkers to its New York list.

Fifteen establishments were just added, with this being the only one in Westchester — this time (others are already on the list, with three newcomers most recently added in January.) The new entries, mostly in Manhattan, are highlighted as “New” on guide.michelin.com to help food lovers enjoy new discoveries before the annual announcement of MICHELIN's Bib Gourmands and Stars.

Frank Pepe's won the MICHELIN reviewers' hearts with its "perfectly blistered, coal-fired pizza."

For decades, they wrote, "getting a bite meant taking a ride up I-95. But since Frank Pepe has expanded, and with this location in Yonkers, fans can score their favorite sans traffic and long lines.

"This outpost's decor and attitude are free from pretension since everything is singularly focused on the pizza. All varieties, whether it's the original tomato pie with mozzarella or a specialty pie, such as the famous white clam, are available in three sizes, so go ahead and order a few different types. Chase the char with a thirst-quenching sip of East Haven's beloved Foxon Park soda."
