West Side Story Star Rachel Zegler Is Going Viral for Impressions of AOC and Ariana Grande

“So you won’t take down lies, or you will take down lies? I think that's a pretty simple yes or no.”

Rachel Zegler, star of the upcoming West Side Story remake, is no stranger to internet fame. Back in December, her cover of Lady Gaga's A Star Is Born hit "Shallow" received millions of views — and now, she's taking her talents to the next level by sharing all of her celebrity impressions of iconic women like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ariana Grande, and Britney Spears.

Rachel hopped on Twitter on November 5 to provide her followers with a perfect thread of celebrity impressions, captioning it: "A thread of impressions that i can do because they’re too obscure for my resume even though no one cares." The characters and celebrities she chooses to do impressions of are pretty random, including Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove and R2-D2 from Star Wars.

But the two that I am personally living for — and I know you will too — are Rachel's impressions of Ariana as Cat from Victorious and of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. For Cat, Rachel opts to do her laugh which is, as we all know, basically just Ariana's instantly recognizable, soft, musical laugh. For AOC, she dons oversized glasses and AOC's classic red lip to re-create her recent major moment questioning Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg: "So you won’t take down lies, or you will take down lies? I think that's a pretty simple yes or no."

Other standout impressions include her takes on Shakira, and Idina Menzel as Elsa in Frozen, which are eerily similar to the originals.

As previously mentioned, we'll get a starrier introduction to Rachel in December 2020 when West Side Story hits theaters. A skilled singer and performer, Rachel will play the role of Maria (originally played onscreen by the iconic Natalie Wood) opposite Ansel Elgort's Tony in the modern musical take on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

If her impressions thread proves anything, it's that Rachel is not only supremely talented, but she's also having fun in the spotlight and honestly, what's not to love about that?
