Without a doubt, Clueless is a classic. The romantic comedy, based loosely on Jane Austen's Emma, captured the hearts of '90s teens and has only continued to grow in popularity. Between the setting (a Beverly Hills high school), the witty heroine (Alicia Silverstone as the shallow-yet-endearing Cher Horowitz), and the humor ("Ugh, as if!"), there's no wonder why viewers turn to this film again and again.
The movie, released in 1995, revolves around Cher Horowitz (Silverstone), a beautiful and charming, Beverly Hills teenager who loves to meddle in the lives of those around her. She and her best friend Dionne (Stacey Dash) befriend a new student, Tai (the late Brittany Murphy) and decide to give her a full makeover in order to bring her into their inner circle. Cher also intervenes in the lives of her teachers and her dashing yet brainy ex-stepbrother, Josh (a young Paul Rudd). Naturally, a delightful comedy of errors ensues.
