Who Went Home and Who Made It Through Last Night on ‘American Idol’ Showstoppers Part 2

The judges make their 'Final Judgments' as they pick the final Top 24 American Idols for 2023.
Last night was the final night of “Showstoppers: The Final Judgment” on American Idol 2023 and the cuts continued as judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan narrowed down the 55 hopefuls to the Top 24.
The night opened with the continuation of the sing-off between Paige Anne and Megan Danielle on Adele’s “Easy on Me,” and unlike the sing-off between Pjae and Malik Heard the previous night, only one of the ladies went through – and the lucky lady was Megan Danielle.
“We are having to cut amazing talent,” Lionel said.
So much so that Cam Amen, a Platinum Ticket winner, was eliminated, despite the judges’ early belief in him.
“Showstoppers” is the first time the contestants performed with a band on a big stage, which gave the judges the opportunity to rate them on more than just their voice, but also on stage presence.

And then at the end, there was a surprising twist. The judges couldn’t decide between Iam Tongi, Matt Wilson, and Colin Stough, so when the competition moves to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, it will be a Top 26. While there, the Top 26 will get to work with soul and R&B singer-songwriter Allen Stone and left-of-center pop singer/songwriter Noah Cyrus, who will mentor the Idol hopefuls who will face America’s first vote of the season.
