Hall of Fame boxer Floyd Mayweather owns numerous businesses in Las Vegas.
One of his lesser-known properties is Skate Rock City on the east side of the city.
Insider's boxing reporter took his young family there and found it's among the most wholesome, fun activities you can have in a city of sin.
This is Floyd Mayweather. As a former five-weight world champion he's one of the best boxers in the history of the sport.
Based in Las Vegas, Mayweather owns numerous properties and businesses, including a world-class boxing facility called Mayweather Boxing Club, Mayweather Promotions, and a strip club called Girl Collection.
One of his lesser-known properties, however, is Skate Rock City — a roller disco formerly known as Crystal Palace, which the 45-year-old fighter bought in 2021.
At almost 26,000 square feet, it's one huge facility.
It is located on the east side of town — an approximate 20-minute drive from the Las Vegas strip.
Coincidentally, the Sam's Town hotel and gambling hall is just up the road — a site Mayweather Promotions has used to hold regional boxing events to showcase up-and-coming members of its roster.
But today, I was here to skate, not watch fights — and, you know what? I'm happy about that.
Inside, the place was massive. There are numerous tables to eat and drink your purchases from the concessions stand, a small arcade, and a huge rink. I paid $60 for entry, which covered access and skate rentals for myself, my wife, and our two young children.
The arcade had popular items, including, most appropriately, one of those boxing games that tests the puncher's power.
The snack bar had a lot to offer and included kid-friendly favorites, like pizza, wings, hot dogs, churros, and a whole bunch of candy.
If you're wondering what the "TMT Water" is at $3 per bottle, it's just regular water with Mayweather's branding —The Money Team — wrapped around it.
After hydrating, it was time to skate! And there were people of all abilities on the rink — from newbies to those who could do it all. It was a popular place for young families to go, as well as teenagers venturing out on first dates.
Sometimes, Floyd himself turns up. But, alas, he was not there on the day we visited.
He's even brought his celebrity friends with him for a few laps of the rink, like pop sensation Usher.
If you're surprised Mayweather likes roller skating, remember: This is the same guy who wowed crowds during the fifth season of 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2007. He's clearly got moves!
They say, 'What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,' but Skate Rock City offers opportunities to make plenty of lasting memories, as it's among the most wholesome, fun activities young people and families can have while they visit.
