Wendy's Is Giving Away Free Food Through 2020
Wendy's is turning 50 years old, and they released a birthday cake-flavored frosty to prove it. Additionally, because they want you to help them celebrate the big 5-0, they're offering free food all the way into the new year.

The fast food chain tweeted about the deal on Monday with the caption, "Oh, just rolling out free food for our 50th birthday nbd." Yeah, fast food social media is weird, but finding out about this promo makes it worth it.
To access the free food offers, all you have to do is download the Wendy's app on your phone and use the scanner feature within the app. Similar to a QR code, Wendy's bags and cups will start popping up with a scannable "Sip & Scan" icon that will unlock the free food offers.
It seems sort of like a roulette of what you might get, which makes it all the more fun. According to Thrillist, the offer so far is confirmed to include fries, single cheeseburgers, and Frostys—including that birthday cake flavor! Crossing my fingers spicy nuggets are an option, but I guess I'll just have to download the app to find out.
The best part is that the birthday deal is sticking around for a while. You can score your free Wendy's until January 3, 2020. So get your hands on a Frosty before you go all out with your New Year's resolutions. It's definitely worth it in my book.
