The Wendy Williams Show is continuing on without host Wendy Williams and fans are having a hard time with the news.

On March 1, the daytime talk show announced the latest roster of guest hosts filling in for Wendy for the month. Over the next few weeks, viewers will see frequent guest stars hip-hop artists Fat Joe and Remy Ma return to the studio as well as TV personality Sherri Shepherd. Comedian Kym Whitley, actor Finesse Mitchell, TV star Carson Kressley and actress Vivica A. Fox are also part of the lineup. Most recently, news broke that The Wendy Williams Show will officially end and be replaced with Sherri’s own self-titled daytime TV talk show this fall.

As fans may know, Wendy hasn’t appeared in the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show. After the premiere was delayed several times from its original September 2021 date, new episodes began airing in October without Wendy. According to Deadline, she has been recovering from “serious complications” related to Graves’ disease, an autoimmune thyroid disorder. Wendy first revealed that she had the condition in February 2018 and had been living with it for years.

Throughout her recovery process, a number of guest hosts have appeared on the daytime talk show in her place, including actor Michael Rapaport, daytime host Jerry Springer, actress Leah Remini and media personality Michelle Visage. Now, five months in without Wendy, the show is welcoming back previous guest hosts and adding new names to the schedule. Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed, The Wendy Williams Show will most likely follow this format until it ends. There has been no formal end date announced yet.

After hearing about March’s guest hosts on the show’s official Instagram account, Wendy’s fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts. “👏🙌[They] are all so good but please Miss Wendy come back soon! ❤️,” one person wrote. “I’m VERY excited about Carson and Vivica!! You already know Joe and Rem are going to kill it 💚✨ great lineup, we miss you thought Wen Wen 💚🗣,” another added.

There were others who were excited about having new episodes led by some of their favorite TV personalities. “Yes to all of this!!! I LOVE @carsonkressley 😍😍,” a different fan said. “Love this lineup for the Wendy show but love Sherri Shepherd. She can bring the heat alone and definitely keeps me watching 🔥🔥❤️,” a follower commented.

What’s more, some hoped that they would see the Queen of Tea one last time before her show came to a conclusion. “Wendy better come back for a final episode if she gotta do it in her living room 😭,” someone wrote. “I would love to see Wendy [do] a goodbye message or pop up in the show on the last day. I hope she is ok,” another posted.

Of course, there is hope that The Wendy Williams Show isn't ending for good. After Sherri announced that she will be hosting her own syndicated daytime talk show in September 2022, Wendy shared words of gratitude to her and everyone who has helped in the past few months. Per Deadline, she shared a statement through her spokesperson Howard Bragman. “It’s been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues,” he said to the outlet. “She is incredibly grateful to [TV company] Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time.”

He continued: “She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television — you can’t go to the marketplace and sell a show that’s The Maybe Wendy Show. She understands why this decision was made from a business point of view, and she has been assured by Debmar-Mercury that should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time.”
