Today, we’re the ones asking Wendy Williams, “how you doin’?” During yesterday’s Halloween episode of The Wendy Williams Show, Williams fainted unexpectedly on live television. The talkshow host was dressed in a heavy Statue of Liberty costume that reportedly caused her to overheat and become dehydrated.

The fainting spell occurred right after the live airing returned from a commercial break. Williams’ voice began to shake and she wobbled before falling to the ground. Shocked audience members reacted before the camera cut to black.

Being the trooper that she is, Williams returned to the stage after taking a few minutes to recuperate. After explaining that her passing out was not a Halloween trick, Williams rallied and carried on with the rest of the show.

Later, a message was posted to Williams’ Instagram stating, “Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights. She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. Thank you for your well wishes.”

Williams wore a gorgeous green sequined dress by Cesar Galindo, matching J.Crew pumps, and was styled by Memsor Kamaraké and her “Glam Squad.” Even though the costume ultimately caused Williams to overheat, we must admit that it was absolutely fabulous.

You can hear in the below clip that audience members didn’t know what to think while Williams’ struggled to remain upright.

UsMagazine.com reported that a spokesperson for FDNY confirmed responding to a medical emergency around 10:30 AM at The Wendy Williams Show set address. Once Williams returned home, she updated fans via Instagram that she was refueling with water and electrolytes.

“On another note,” Williams added, “I slayed and laid Halloween, LOL!” TRUE.
